I've been really fortunate throughout my career. Having joined the NHS Ambulance service in 1995 I knew I had found my place and vocation in the community, one which allows me to use my skills to help others and promote good health. As a Paramedic, Operational Manager and now the MD of my own company I believe I am still achieving what I set out to do when I initially started in this industry. Prior to joining the Hampshire Ambulance Service (pre SCAS days) I was a volunteer with the RNLI. it was here that I found that I took a lot of pride in helping others to have a quality of life that they may not have had, had I not followed this path or the training which runs alongside the skills achieved. The difference now is I have an amazing team who support my vision and give what they can to help others and me to achieve the outcomes everyone should expect from people who are there to help when things aren't right. Whether that be injury, illness or in need of a friendly voice. I have been privileged to work with some wonderful people with this same vision and intend to continue this by developing others to carry on this special and rewarding work

Dr Mark Tomson Medical Director
I have been a General Practitioner (GP) in Hamble, Southampton since 1991 but as well as working full time I have always been interested in finding other opportunities to use my Medical skills and experience. With this in mind I have been the Medical Officer to the RNLI Calshot lifeboat for the last 17 years. It was here that I met Mark (Weatherhead) and not long after we started doing some projects together supplying safety support to Sailing events both in this country and abroad. I have been the Medical Director to Acute Medical Event Services for the last 6 years where I am able to offer advice and support to this excellent business.
